1. What are the 2026 fees?

2. When does the season start? Weather depending, we will open the season last week of April and play through until last week of June. Once the teams are formed, your coach will contact you with a start date.
3. When does the season end? For all house divisions: U5/U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, U17 and Adult (U19) the last week of June is the end of the season. For provincial level teams play can be extended into July
4. How are teams chosen? Estevan Minor Softball is striving to improve long-term player development within the association. Therefore all athletes (U11, U13, U15 and U17) must attend evaluations for the 2026 season. Through these evaluations we can determine the level with which our athletes are performing and determine the progression of athletes from year to year.
5. Does EMS offer Player Development sessions for their players prior to the season starting? Yes. Player Development Sessions for Softball for U13 and up take place over the winter depending on the coaching availability. Skills sessions for U9 -U11 are being discussed. Cost is generally $15/session. An email will be sent to all REGISTERED players notifying of session dates and when/how to register, please watch your email as well as FB and Estevan Minor Softball website for more information.
6. When will evaluations take place? Evaluations will take place approximately Mid January (depending on facility availability), please watch your email as well as the Estevan Minor Softball website for more information.
7. Can my son play softball? The Learn to Play division U5-U9 is open to both boys and girls, after that age level, they are required to register with Estevan Minor Baseball to continue.
8. What if my child wants to play on the same team as a friend? We understand but are unable to accommodate these requests expect for with immediate family members. We recommend becoming a coach if you want to have a say in the selection of teams.
9. What equipment does my child need to play ball? A ball glove that is suitable size for your child, batting helmet (with cage for Softball), ball pants, and softball cleats or good runners. Optional equipment is bat and batting gloves. Teams will be supplied with jerseys. Visors may be purchased at the time of registration.
10. Are there any more costs other than the registration fee? Typically yes. Teams usually have team pictures done, tournament entry fees, a windup (teams usually decide this amount at a team/parent meeting at the beginning of the season). Estevan Minor Softball also has league clothing for sale, watch this website for more information on purchasing clothing.
11. How far do the teams travel for league games? >U11 there is no travel for softball for league games. The old divisions will require travel within the SE area.
12. Where are games played? U5/ U7 and U9 and U11 divisions play in Estevan. U13 and up play in Estevan and surrounding towns, depending on the league that division is in.
13. What days do they play? Please visit the 2026 Season information tab under PLAYERS at the top of the homepage
14. How often do they play? Usually 2 times per week but this is dependent on level of play and weather. Number of practices are dependent on the coach.
